Mr. Middleton’s Class Newsletter Term 3

Dear parents,

We welcome your child and you back to a brand new year.

I hope the holiday was a relaxing and refreshing time for you all.

Our theme for this term is World War 2 with a focus on occupied Europe and the Holocaust, in particular. After this we will turn our attention to the Romans; who were they?

We will look at the centre of the empire, the many inventions that made them so formidable and much more. After half term we will look specifically at Romans in Britain, their army, their towns etc. Your child will be encouraged to ask questions and research answers too.

PE will be on a Wednesday morning and a Friday afternoon. Please make sure your child has the appropriate PE kit. Please note that no earrings can be worn during PE lessons.

Last term, we had many issues with children mistreating the equipment that school gives them to learn, broken pencils, rulers etc, whiteboard pens left with their lids off or just left on the floor. Regretfully I have decided to ask parents to provide replacement equipment this term if their original set is broken on lost. All children will receive a full new set of all they require at the start of term.

The rest of this news letter tells you dates and other important pieces of information that you will need to continue to have a smooth and generally awesome year!

As a parent of two school children myself, I’m passionate that your children should feel happy and safe in my class. Please don’t hesitate to speak to me if you want to ask questions about any aspect of your child’s school life.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. S. Middleton
