Our School

Welcome to our wonderful, nurturing and caring school where we encourage every child to meet their full potential. Our Christian values are the heartbeat of our loving school. As a fully inclusive school, we acknowledge the uniqueness of every child nurturing everyone to dream big and achieve.

Our school offers the highest educational provision within a creative and stimulating environment. We offer enrichment opportunities to extend, enhance and encourage active learning. Our children learn to love themselves, one another and the world.

St. Mary's CE VA Primary Academy is a stand alone single Academy trust managed by the Trustees and Governing Body.

Meet our School Ambassadors below:

Alan Turing - Our Ambassador for Mathematics

Alan Turing was an English mathematician and computer scientist, most famous for his work in deciphering coded messages during World War 2, a pivotal role in allowing the allied forces to win many crucial engagements. After the war, Turing designed one of the first examples of modern day computing, the automatic computing engine.

Malala Yousafzai - Our Ambassador for Community

Malala is a human rights advocate, especially for the education of women and children. When she was only 15, an assassination attempt was made in retaliation to her activism. Following her recovery, she founded the Malala fund, a non-profit organisation that advocates for the education of women. Malala received the Nobel Peace Prize, when she was only 17 years old.

Roald Dahl - Our Ambassador for Literacy

During his career, Roald Dahl wrote over 30 children's books, selling over 250 million copies worldwide. Dubbed as "one of the greatest storytellers of the 20th century", Dahl's works are known for unexpected endings, villainous adult enemies and championing kind-hearted children. His most famous books include Matilda, The BFG and George's Marvellous Medicine.

Mo Farah - Our Ambassador for Sports

Born in Somalia, Farah moved to England aged 8 after a civil war broke out. At the age of 13, Farah joined his local athletics club, after his PE teacher spotted his talent. After winning his first major title in 2001, Farah went on to be crowned Olympic Champion in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meter disciplines, becoming the most successful British track athlete ever.

Frida Kahlo - Our Ambassador for the Arts

 

Frida Kahlo is not only known as a fantastic artist, but also regarded as an icon for civil rights, feminism and the LGBTQ+ community. Born in Mexico in 1907, her colourful portraits often mixed realism with fantasy. Kahlo suffered with medical illness for the majority of her life, however, continued to follow her love of art, despite being in physical pain.

Nelson Mandela - Our Key Values Ambassador

Nelson Mandela was an anti-apartheid revolutionary and South Africa's first black president. After serving 27 years in prison for protesting against racial segregation laws, Nelson Mandela led efforts to end apartheid, which resulted in him being elected president in 1994. Following his election, Mandela gained international acclaim for his activism, receiving over 250 honours, including the Nobel Peace Prize. Nelson Mandela is our school ambassador for our Key Value of "Do everything in Love, love yourself, love others love the world" due to his displays of affection and care to others and his country throughout his life.
