Medication in School

Unlike many other local schools we will actually administer medicines to your children. There is no statutory requirement that we should do this. It is done on the understanding that schools are busy places and it may be possible to miss one dose.

If your child needs medicine administering during the day, it must be brought into school by an adult and given to a member of the school staff. You will be asked to fill in some forms, so that everyone understands dose etc. Children should not bring any medicines into school, it is not safe and nor is it a reliable method of ensuring your child gets to take the medicine. You should bring in the medicine with doctor’s instructions. You need to sign the necessary forms.
